MY JOURNEY TO DESIGN & UX
Born in Atlanta, GA. Shortly after, mom and I moved to the Chesapeake Bay area, where I spent most of my childhood eating shrimp by the Atlantic.

Moved to Texas. Along the way I picked up a brother and a sister. It's here where I learned the deep south is a little bit different.

Packed my bags and moved to New Mexico after two years of college. The desert was beautiful, hot, and ephemeral.

Graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a BA in film.

Moved to Los Angeles, CA and spent many years working for free or next to nothing.
Interviewed to work for Steven Seagal productions but didn't get the job.
Paramount lot feels historic when you walk it. Universal feels more like Disney.

Instead of the film industry, I fell in love with cooking and became a professional executive chef. Oh, what a tangled web we weave.

The kitchen is where I learned to work in a high stress environment while leading teams to success. It's also where I first began thinking about the "user" and how to craft wonderful, stimulating expierences.
A lot changed in the world. I started to reconsider my career as well as my future. I looked into furthering my education.
User experience design interested me because it was creative and technical, but also required empathy and an understanding of elements of psychology, sociology, & ethnography.
I enrolled and began my studies.
Received MS in UX Design from Kent State.
I'm currently open to new opportunities while I design freelance & personal projects.
I learn a new skill daily.
Oh, and we had a boy. He's our world :)
